Mass Spectrometry Analysis Service—Waters Quattro Micro GC/MS/MS

Mass spectrometry has become invaluable in a wide range of fields and applications, including proteomics. The development of high throughput and quantitative MS proteomics workflows has expanded the scope of protein structure, function, modifications, and overall protein dynamics. In addition, MS has been widely used in metabolomics and glycomics analysis. Creative Proteomics is equipped with advanced mass spectrometers to support your experiments in academia or industry with the professional mass spectrometry-based analysis described above.

Name of the Instrument/Technicial Service

Waters Quattro Micro GC/MS/MS

Introduction

As a triple quad mass spectrometer, it can be used for many methods such as multiple reaction monitoring (MRM), pproduct ion, precursor ion and neutral loss/gain. However, many users prefer to do simple GC-MS experiments for volatile analytes (typically <500 amu in MW). As a "hard" ionization technique, EI produces abundant fragment ions. This can be highly useful since the fragments produced can be used for structural characterization. Our GC-MS comes equipped with the NIST spectral library that contains hundreds of thousands of spectra and which can be searched for structural identification of unknowns.

MANUFACTURER: Waters

Summary

Waters Quattro micro GC/MS/MS is a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with an Agilent 6890 GC and CTC CombiPAL autosampler has a mass range from 4 to 1500 amu. Both 70 eV electron ionization (EI) and chemical ionization (CI) with methane or ammonia as reagent gas.
